Re:running form - 2008/06/05 12:59 would you also say it is good to do all your workouts (strength and conditioning) barefoot? For example, we do a good medicine ball workout for core/explosiveness training. Barefoot?

Re:running form - 2008/06/05 18:00 personally, i like working out barefoot because i hate shoes. i wear flip-flops almost 100% of the time when i am not on the court.

i have seen research suggesting that working out has benefits. i like training barefoot because you really feel the ground and get a better sense of your body. i really like jump roping barefoot and believe doing it on something like a mat builds ankle strength. running barefoot also strengths the foot muscles moreso than running with shoes on. i know some people who swear many of the injuries which are more prevalent today start because of the way shoes are made and the way they distort the running pattern.
