lack of depth - 2008/01/17 21:01 Looking for some solutions our situation. There is a giant drop off in talent from the first six guys to the last six(Freshman boys). The first six have been well coached, been on a traveling team, come to my offseason camps and open gyms etc. The last six. . . they play hard. What is the best way to structure practice? I need to develop the bottom guys and challenge the top guys. I have done a few things but I really don't want to alienate the bottom guys, there is potential there but our youth program has failed them. Thanks for all your help.

Re:lack of depth - 2008/01/18 02:08 I would probably play a lot of 3v3 with the top guys on one end and the bottom on the other. But, I would mix and match sometimes. Basically, in the drills, you want a healthy balance between the top guys battling each other and the bottom guys battling each other, but you don't want the top guys always dominating the ball. 3v3 eliminates that to some degree because your chances of touching the ball with 2 other teammates are better than with 4.
