What can we expect from the new version of Blitz?

Re:Any new editions to the Blitz Method? - 2007/12/04 18:35 Well, I haven't started it, so I don't really know. However, when I re-read it, I realized I needed to include many more diagrams to clarify things. Also, I practice with my team everyday, so I get to look at the offense as a coach and a player, which should add some different perspectives, based on what I see that would be open.

However, I have to finish at least two books first, which are both more than half finished, and have an interesting idea for a series of blogs or column for a magazine, if someone wants to pay for it, so that may come first too.

I think a new version of Blitz would add more stuff for a hs team, while the original version was to illustrate a player development system for younger players that could be adopted with hs kids. And, everything will be far more detailed and hopefully explained better.

but, i would say march would be a realistic, maybe optimistic, timeline based on current projects.

Re:Any new editions to the Blitz Method? - 2007/12/04 18:56 I use the basic progressions as the base se for our dribble motion offense. When I got the book I thought the progressions on offense helped me the most. I wa slucky enough to get a hold of most of the Walberg notes available before they wereput on diferent websites. So I have a decent bas of notes and progressions/reads/drills to go from. However Im sure your knowledge of the offense is deeper than mine. I also have the Dribble Motion DVD's that came out a few months ago which show a couple verions of the offense. I know the diagrams would be a big hlpe to me also for the reason that I could show them to my players and help them gain a coaching perspective of the offense as well.

Re:Any new editions to the Blitz Method? - 2007/12/04 19:37 Is that Herb Welling's DVD? He's actually the one who encouraged me to write the Blitz Basketball book after we had several conversations about what I did and what I saw from watching Walberg's team play.

I haven't updated my press since 2001 because I have not had the personnel to press and likely will not press much this year either. We'll see. So, the changes will likely be all on the offensive progressions. I come up with new variations of the drills almost every day, so I just need to write down all the variations...
